. mary's cathedral in san francisco for their organ and canter service that will start at 7:30. coming up we will try to go in and speak to the pastor about his plans for the service today. live in san francisco allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. >>> we will turn now to other news. new this morning i want to tell you about a rescue along the side of a by area freeway that happened after a couple crashed their car. that car veered off interstate 880 around 1:30 this morning. it got tangled up in bushes and trees along the fence line. investigators still don't know what went wrong. >> witness described the vehicle suddenly looking as if exiting the freeway. >> police say the car hit the fence at full freeway speed. we don't know the extent of the injuries but authorities say the woman inside that car was able to talk to police. however, the man who was driving suffered a head injury and was not able to communicate with his rescuers. >>> it was a wet and soggy saturday. more rain is on the way for the next few days. the storm also brought cold temperatures to many parts of the bay. and holida

. but how should we communicate with our children about it? san francisco's unified school district is one of many all across the bay acknowledging the difficulty educators and students have. mayor ed lee and the superintendent released a statement letting our schools know there will be counselors available today to help anyone deal with trauma and stress. >>> the images of last friday's newtown school shooting throughout the country have also hit us here at home. a psychologist tells us younger children will have a hard time understanding. >> so for those children it's really important to try and limit their exposure to these events all the news coverage and to more importantly to reassure to them the safety of their environment. >> older children will have a better understanding and will want to know more specifics. dr. berry says be western open them and stress that this is an isolated incident. >>> president obama told mourners that parents, educators, law enforcement and mental health experts need to join forces to prevent tragedies like this in the future. gun control was a big issue
